PCR test for Coronavirus
The PCR test is the world standard for diagnosing Covid 19. The examination consists of a nasopharyngeal and an oropharyngeal sample(from the nose and throat). The sample is taken outside of the main building in a specific area designed for that purpose. The diagnostic point for diagnosing patients with suspected Covid-19 is located to the right of the Central Entrance.
The procedure is slightly uncomfortable but absolutely harmless. The two samples are rubbed against the sides of the nostrils and throat and in order to achieve maximum reliability of the results, the test is carried out by professionals specifically trained for this procedure. All the staff is equipped with personal safety measures of the highest quality and there are disinfection materials everywhere in the building.
We advise our patients to be tested if:
– They observe flue-like symptoms such as high temperature, coughing, muscle pains, loss of smell or taste).
– Have been in contact with an ill person. The legitimacy of the test is highest 3 to 4 days after the symptoms have been noticed.
The mobile laboratory works every weekday from 7:30 to 12:30. The PCR test is conducted only with an appointment made in advance. The patient schedule is planned ahead of time in order to comply with social distancing rules and to make sure we keep a clean environment.
